In an era characterised by digital innovation, the integration of online directories is revolutionising local economies, fostering growth and prosperity. PRABRIDDHI has actively supported the development of the light engineering (LE) sector in Jashore by collaborating with local stakeholders. In partnership with the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (BEIOA) – Jashore and Chakladar Corp (CC), a local business development service provider, PRABRIDDHI successfully facilitated the development and launch of an online directory named ‘Lightengineeringjashore.com’.
“PRABRIDDHI played a significant role in developing this unique e-directory for the LE sector of Jashore. Without PRABRIDDHI’s assistance, it would have been challenging to create this resource. Now, I am expanding the reach to Bogura by developing an online directory for the LE sector of the Bogura region. In future, I am thinking of developing a dedicated display centre for LE products. This centre will serve as a hub for showcasing sample machinery and conducting product demonstrations,” said Mr. Emon Chakladar, CEO of Chakladar Corp.
To raise awareness about the e-directory and attract clients from areas beyond Jashore, CC conducted 13 promotional campaigns this year. With support from the project, they are currently preparing 400 printed directories and promotional tools including seven audio-visual documentaries which will be handed over to the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owner’s Association (BEIOA). BEIOA will utilize these tools for further promotion of the platform, reaching out to national and international potential clients of the sector.
Building on the success of previous initiatives, the expansion of e-directory and e-marketplace services to Bogura holds the promise of enhancing market access and driving economic prosperity for the region. The digital transformation of the LE sector in Bogura represents another milestone in PRABRIDDHI’s mission to empower local economies. Collaborating with Bangladesh Agricultural Machinery Merchant Association (BAMMA), BEIOA, and Foundry Owners Association (FOA), PRABRIDDHI is facilitating the development of an online directory tailored to the needs of local workshops and entrepreneurs.
Similarly, in Bhairab, the footwear sector has flourished over the past two decades, emerging as a significant contributor to Bangladesh’s economy. PRABRIDDHI’s support in developing an E-directory for the footwear sector underscores its commitment to fostering digital transformation and promoting business expansion. With the launch of the online platform in January 2024, stakeholders are poised to leverage its capabilities to showcase products, attract new clients, and propel the sector’s growth trajectory.
“I am deeply optimistic about the significance of this online directory initiative for the prosperity of the Bhairab municipality sector. This digital endeavour will inspire growth, progress, and innovation within Bhairab municipality, thereby facilitating the development of industries,” stated Mr. Iftekhar Hossain Beno, Mayor of Bhairab.
